mr and mrs *ScrapThat! August Kit*

This beautiful sketch is by Amarylis Doria for ScrapThat! Join the challenge HERE.

My take.
This photo was taken last December. We'll be married 7 years on Aug 5. It's been a long road but we are thankful for most of our minutes lol. The large border punch is Martha Stewart. The rub on trim is Kaisercraft, part of the Main Kit.

The pearls, white roses, teal leaves, nest, and green leaves are all part of the Main Kit. All other flowers are Petaloo, Recollections, and Prima. The oxoxo tag is Crate Paper. The two small, glittery paper flowers (under the nest and off to the right) are from Posy Patch Flowers and Dies by Heartfelt Creations.

The gauze, glass accent, and frame are all part of the August kit. I covered the frame with Picket Fence Crackle Paint by Tim Holtz and then heat embossed with gold. The little birds are Colorbok.

The large flower was handmade by my sister Vivian. The little rose is probably Wild Orchid Crafts or Manor House Creations. The dark pink was a white Recollections flower and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

These two large pearl brads are from the Main Kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

inner demons *ScrapThat! August Kit*

This picture was taken at my first half marathon in 2009. I never cared for it much because you can see all the dimply fabulousness (ie cellulite) in my left leg. I've been running for 9 and a half years now and I still find myself full of negative self talk from time to time.

I surrounded this LO with positive self talk.
Papers, lace, flowers, brads, pearls, and rub ons are all from the ScrapThat! August Main Kit. The LO was inspired by Emilie Chamel. In the second photo, I'm signing my life away to my second half marathon.

This star is leftover from a previous project. The paper is from Catching Fall by Lily Bee Design. The orange doesn't match but I like it anyway! The blue gems were also leftovers that have been sitting on my desk for quite some time.

The pearls are from the Main Kit. I started my journaling too close to the edge of the paper so I fixed up that mistake with a dainty little pink corner. The corner punch is EK Success.

I stamped my LO with my 2009 half marathon racing shoes- brown acrylic paint. The flowers and lace on the left are all from the Main Kit. The title was cut from my Cricut using Gypsy Font and Blackletter. I accented with a banner and machine stitching.

This lovely sentiment is from Door To My Heart by Heartfelt Creations.

I took the large teal flower apart and cut it up. I layered a couple of the pieces and topped with a crochet flower and roses. All the pieces are accented with Glimmer Mist and acrylic paint.

The rub ons and pearls are both Kaisercraft and they are part of the Main Kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

ScrapThat! Sneak Peeks

love lives here *Heartfelt Creations*

This started with an Accordion Kit by 7 Gypsies. I tore it apart twice and threw out the instructions before I finally got it going the way I wanted.

I used Weekend Market papers by BoBunny. "Love lives here", the circular stamped sentiment, frame die cut, leaves and swirls, butterflies, and flower are all Heartfelt Creations. I used a Making Memories hole punch tool to punch the hole on the right and install a WRMK eyelet. The brown trim is by American Crafts.

I used Tattered Blossoms stamps and dies to make this flower. I finished it with Stickles and a BoBunny brad.

I just love these stamp and die butterflies from Garden Romance!

Inside the front cover. I used brown acrylic paint to stamp the inside. This stamp is from the Old English Garden Collection.

Here, I just did an arrangement of fun paper, lace, and a binder clip.

Open accordion. The tape is from Tim Holtz.

A corner die cut with a key and folder tucked inside.

On the flip side. After die cutting all those Tattered Blossoms, I used the negative as a stencil for glimmer misting. I used brown acrylic paint to stamp the script. The ephemera is from a Tim Holtz sticker book.

The back.

Just in case you didn't see the front.

SUPPLIES:

OTHER:
Weekend Market papers and brad by BoBunny. Cuttlebug. Stickles. Large eyelets by WRMK. Archival ink. Distress Inks. 7 Gypsies Accordion Album Kit. Tim Holtz decorative tape. Brown trim. White lace. Tim Holtz ephemera stickers. Binder clip by Fancy Pants. Yellow Daisy Glimmer Mist. Metal key by K and Company. Frame from Chloe's Closet by Making Memories. Brown acrylic paint. Quote from Authentique manufacturer strip.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Glue two of the prefolded cardboard pieces together to create an accordion. For the cover, add two more score lines .25" on each side of existing center score line. Cover all sides with paper, finish with tape. Ink the edges. Punch holes in the cover and set large eyelets. Thread the ribbon and secure. Glue the accordion to the inside right of the cover.
2. Decorate the front with handmade flowers, leaves, flourishes, stamped sentiments, butterflies, and frame cuts.
3. Decorate the inside pages with stamping, die cuts, sentiments, and photos.

I did a similar album with the July ScrapThat! Kit. I give a little tour of the album here in this video.

Mike Life Big Part II

I had this project for Heartfelt Creations hanging in the kitchen for photos and my husband made a big fuss over it. He thought it was soooo cool! I was sad to tell him we couldn't keep it. So, I promised to make another. More details about this one HERE.

My sister and I were shopping at Jo-Ann last week when we discovered this adorable Tweet Memories collection by Heidi Grace. I thought the colors would look great in my kitchen, which is currently an eclectic mess of red, green, and yellow. I used Tim Holtz jump rings to link all the panels. So easy!

Sorry about the photo quality. My kitchen is my camera's worst nightmare.

Each panel is 5x75 inches. I used thin chipboard (collected from the back of paper packs over the years) and layered with paper. I used the Making Memories Deluxe Tool Kit to punch holes in each piece for linking.

The tiny letters are Basic Grey. The "MAKE" alphas are Thickers. The epoxy button up in the left is from the Heidi Grace collection.

The fence is die cut from Garden Romance by Heartfelt Creations. The door is from Vintage Doors by Heartfelt Creations. The larger flowers are from Flirty Fleurs by Heartfelt Creations. The smaller ones are from Perfect Petal Class by Heartfelt Creations. I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils. The little bird is a sticker from the Heidi Grace collection.

I found this adorable fence in the craft wood aisle at Michael's. I used white acrylic paint on it. The felt clouds are by Pebbles. Check the clearance section at your Michael's for these cuties!

The bird and banner are stickers from the Heidi Grace collection. The house is another little treasure I found in the craft wood aisle at Michael's. I covered it with HG papers and buttons.

The clouds are stamped with Flirty Fleurs by Heartfelt Creations, punched with Fiskars cloud punches, and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

So, does my husband like this new one for our kitchen? Not really. He thinks it's "too cutesy." He thought my first one was "more classy."

The good news is, this piece will add some personality to our very boring half bathroom. I will be making ANOTHER for the kitchen and I'll have to use some other fabulous, cliche phrase.
Home Sweet Home? Suggestions appreciated.

THE SKETCH

I always need more holiday cards!
Papers are from Winter Song by Creative Imaginations.

The large flower is handmade by Stephanie. The small white flower is by Recollections. The bling is Prima. The pinecones and fillers are from the brand new Organic Fillers set by Heartfelt Creations.

The ribbon is from the holiday selection that Michael's puts out every year. I love their holiday selections! The glittery snowflake is by K and Company.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Our card samples will give you many ideas to get your creative juices flowing.  Leave a comment on the HC blog by July 24th and you will be eligible to
win the entire release.

I am LOVING the new paper lines from Heartfelt Creations! Of course, I've always loved their stamps but adding coordinating paper is a total chocolate cherry on top! I had tons of fun stamping my wee heart out for this card.

The little white blossoms are the smallest stamp from Posy Patch. I used a Distress Ink to stamp and then die cut. I wanted them to echo my white blossoms in the main image. The little bit of green pine poking out is from Organic Fillers and coordinating die.

These three blooms are all from the Daisy Patch Flowers and coordinating dies. I stamped all the flowers with Archival black ink on some yellow patterned paper from the coordinating paper pack. They looked a little bland after assembly, so I painted on some shimmer with
Yasutomo Pearlescent paint.

Went a little nuts with all the filler leaves.

And the main image. This is from Ornamental Raspberries. There is an additional bunch of raspberries in this set that can be stamped and layered on the more detailed image, which I did. The extra raspberries stamp also has a coordinating die. I used foam adhesive for dimension.

I stamped the images with Archival black ink onto Kraft cardstock
and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

The sentiment is from Add-on Sentiments from the Garden Romance Collection. I punched it out with a 1 inch circle punch and accented with distress ink and Stickles.
