Mommies and Dinosaurs

Mother's Day is just around the corner (for cardmakers) and I've been focusing on mommy hobbies. Here's another that I whipped up for crafting mommies.

Papers are Material Girl by Cosmo Cricket, RAKed to me by Krissy. The red corner was punched from a Paper Studio punch. The decorative border is Sassafras. The blue trim is Pink Paislee. Machine stitching for character. I used sketch 172 from Mojo Monday.

This image is a digi by Digital Tuesday. Colored with pencils and cut/matted with Spellbinders.

I feel like I should be spending all of my cardmaking energies on Mother's Day cards these days but I had this ridiculous urge the other day to make dinosaur cards. Had some old, dimensional K and Co stickers laying around and made five cards. I used elizgmom's adorable card for inspiration. You can visit her adorable blog here.

The papers are all scraps, even the red matting. They come from Sassafras, LYB, and Cosmo Cricket.

Sewing Machine, Little Red Riding Hood, Ladybug, Cottage

Lots of new cards! Gotta get ready for Mother's Day.

This year I want to make Mother's Day cards that celebrate hobbies that our mommies have. And the usual tremendously gorgeous just to be gorgeous variety :-).

This card was inspired by Clownmom. The sewing machine is a clear stamp by Hero Arts. I colored with pencils and cut with Spellbinders. The papers are from Clothesline by LYB except for a couple of strays by DCWV.

The bow is from the Poolside collection by MM.

The papers on this card are from Alissa by BoBunny. The ribbon is from HL.

This stamp is a digi from Digital Tuesday. I followed this sketch by Mojo Monday. I colored with pencils and cut with Spellbinders. The papers are from Garden Variety by Cosmo Cricket.

The butterfly is a MS punch, topped with stickles. The decorative border is from a Fiskars punch.

I've had this ladybug by BG laying around forever. I paired him up with Material Girl/Garden Variety by CC. Added some machine stitching, EK Success border punching, and trim by WRMK.

This is an old rubber stamp that I got from Craig's List. 100 Proof Press is all I know. Colored with pencils and cut with Spellbinders. The pp are from The Green Stack by DCWV.

The stick pin is Jillibean Soup.

Used chalk on the background.

More Tiffany's Doodles Digi Stamps

I have two more cards today using Tiffany's Doodles. I love her range of stamps, from cute to romantic!

It took a whole village to inspire this card! I followed a sketch from the Verve Stamps blog. I looked for coloring inspiration here and especially liked Lindsay's interpretation.

I scored a box of Prismacolor pencils at HL the other day in the CLEARANCE section! *cheer* I love the rich color. I used them, Staedtler, and Loew-Cornell pencils to color this bloom. I also like how many Copic artists, including Lindsay, outline their shapes with light blue for shadowing/emphasis. I usually use chalk. However, this time used a light blue Loew-Cornell pencil and I really really really like how it turned out!

I cut the stamped image with Spellbinders and topped with Sassafras punched butterflies. I love layering Spellbinders Nestabilities!

The decorative edge punch is EK Success and topped with red gems. Used red and white trim to bring all the colors of the card together.

The pp are Amy Butler from K and Company.

This bowl of apples was my favorite to color.
I followed a sketch by Mojo Monday. I did a search at scs for "apples". I always need a little coloring inspiration. I especially liked this one by Joan B. I used my Prismacolors and topped with stickles. The papers are June Bug by Basic Grey.

I think the canvas piece is Maya Road. I used glossy accents to adhere the stamped image and then to the nestabilites shape. The border punch is by EK Success.

This is a Cricut die cut I had laying around left over from some other project. The paper is also BG but I can't remember with collection. I inked the edges, sprayed with glimmer mist, glued it to the card, and topped with crackle accents.

Just for experimentation, I colored this exclusively with the Loew-Cornell pencils. It's always a good idea to compare. They're not as rich as the Prismacolors but they certainly have their own respectable characteristics. I probably wouldn't pair this image with the bold BG June Bug collection. I would choose something more distressed and/or vintage.

And just to refresh my first Tiffany Doodle's card. You can see more about it here.

Tiffany's Doodles

I recently purchased some digis from Tiffany. I love her images! Here is my first card with her doodles.

I colored the image with orange and green pencils and fussy cut it out. The stem is attached with Scotch quick dry and I propped the blossoms up on pop dots. The papers are by Sassafras.

I sprayed the blossom and mat with silver glimmer mist and topped the blossoms with stickles.

I punched out this fun corner and the butterflies. Topped the butterflies with stickles and gems.

I used sketch 172 from Mojo Monday.

BLAST OFF!!! COOLEST MARBLE ROLLER COASTER EVER!!!! And, of course, it comes complete with cool history, worthy of a LO :-)

Chance wanted a marble roller for xmas. Santa's elves discovered nearly 500 pieces in the box at 11:15 pm xmas eve. At 2:45 am, it didn't work COMPLETE FAILURE. So, they left a note for Chance's daddy that it still needed some work. Chance's daddy discovered that the elves messed up 3 of 4 steps on PAGE ONE.

I followed a sketch created by Jill. The papers are all MME. As usual, I like to junk up my LOs with lots of stuff to support the story.

It took me two weeks to find this elf. They're hard to come by this time of year! He is by Paper Bliss. The fun number tape is by MM.

The numbers are Thickers. The stars and rocket are American Crafts. The gears are Prima. The smaller rocket is a brad by Eyelet Outlet, I think.

Some fun stickers I found on clearance at HL one day. Not sure about the brand.
