magic toys

The homemade kit that started today's layout.

This layout started as a scraplift of Missy Whidden's Letting it All Hang Out. Papers are from Night Light by October Afternoon, Echo Park, Little Yellow Bicycle, and stuff I don't know.

I really liked Missy's peek-a-boo corner so I added a little water to mine, wrinkled it back and filled the space with some old paper from Little Yellow Bicycle.

I used Archival ink to stamp these little hearts from Studio G. The star is a sticker from Fancy Pants.

The brown alphas are from Lush by MME. I was totally out of Ms and Ws so I assembled an M from a couple of Us. The "toys" sticker is from American Crafts- a whole booklet of stickers RAKed to me from Vivian. The triangle stamp is a roller stamp from Glitz- RAKed to me from Wendy.

The journaling card is from Basic Grey and the tab sticker is from Fancy Pants. The various word stickers are from October Afternoon and Authentique. The "awesome" piece is also from Basic Grey and is topped with a Basic Grey brad. How about that cute hand stitching?!! Haven't done that in awhile.

"this is me" is a sticker from Night Light. The alien critter is from American Crafts... why? Well, look at him. He's adorable!

I don't know where this fun orange polka dot paper is from. It was a scrap from Wendy. The date sticker is from MME.

currently love

I've been working on weight training for awhile. This week, I snatched a 25 lbs dumbbell and felt pretty darn good about it. It's my new favorite lift :)

This layout started with a scraplift challenge over at Cocoa Daisy. I scraplifted Sherry C. I just adored her title and concept.

The heart bubble stamp is Studio G. "currently" letter stickers are from Everyday Poetry by Webster's Pages. "love" stickers are from American Crafts. The border punch is Fiskars.

I fussy this cute little jar from Simple Stories paper that was RAKed to me by Wendy. I topped it with a little Martha Stewart punched heart and Stickles.

I love machine stitching but I just didn't feel like it today. I used a Prismacolor pen to draw lines and finished them with Martha Stewart punched hearts.

This sentiment is from Perfect Petal Class- Retired. The background is stamped with Large Elegant Word with Broken China Distress Ink.

This sentiment is from Door To My Heart. I used Diamond Stickles to accent the flag and finished with a brad from BoBunny. I fussy cut the butterfly from Sun Kissed Paper. The film die cut is from Spellbinders.

The stamped die cut is from Maya Road and the brad is BoBunny.

How about some more sparkly flowers?

The chipboard keys are from FarmHouse. The leaves are stamped on green paper with Classic Leaf and cut with Classic Leaf Die. The little blue gate piece is from a Martha Stewart punch. I sponged the edges with Wild Honey Distress Ink.

The decorative edges are from Decorative Flower Pot Die. I sprayed the pieces with Wheatfields Glimmer Mist and sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

take me to the opera

A homemade kit that started with Random by Crate Paper. Then, things just got real random. Hehe.

This layout began with a sketch from Sketchabilities. Some time ago, I had attached that polka dot paper to the lined paper for some other layout and decided not to use it. It was the first thing to go into my Random kit and I decided to give it a whirl for this layout. I usually shy away from dark backgrounds, which is why the white paint is the first thing I wanted to add to this layout.

I was out shopping with my daddy recently and saw this heart stamp on clearance at Michael's. We picked it up for $1. I layered it with this little Maya Road frame and topped it off with a pearl by Studio Calico.

These two corner pieces by Crate Paper have been repurposed to arrows. The yellow paper is from Random and the cloud paper is from Cut and Paste by MME. Good grief, I love that cloud paper. The photo anchor is an old die cut from Grandma's Kitchen by WRMK. The heart paper is from Tea for Two by Cosmo Cricket. I'm a sucker for hearts and clouds.

Some black lace to compliment my dress. The ring of black gems is from Prima. The notebook edge is a punch by EK Success and that paper is from Tea for Two by Cosmo Cricket. The other die cut paper peeking out here is from Restoration by Crate Paper.

The kraft tickets are Maya Road and the sentiment ticket is MME. The vintage card is from Crafty Secrets.

I really thought I was gonna go for my fluffy flowers stash for this layout. I have one drawer for vintage themes and I found these chipboard and cardstock flowers first. I layered them and really liked the result. The musical dot is from Prima. The yellow butterfly was stamped with Brookside Manor and cut with Garden Romance Die. The sentiment is a die cut from Memories by Teresa Collins. That little polka dot chipboard piece is from Random.

These tags were RAKed to me from Wendy. They might be from a Studio Calico kit? The heart is from a The Paper Studio punch. The pearl is Studio Calico.

Those sweet little buttons are from Oct 31st by Fancy Pants. The "remember" chipboard is from Memories by Teresa Collins and I topped it with a little bow.. The journaling ticket is from Colorbok.

let it snow

My homemade kit helped me out here. I started with Snow Village by Pink Paislee.
Isn't that photo of my nephew adorable?!! I've scrapped it before but that layout was terrible. Just take my word for it.

The Progressive Challenge at Memorable Seasons led me to this new and improved layout!

I fussy cut this banner from All Is Bright paper by MME.

Here we have layers of paper and sparkly snowflakes.

I fussy cut the flags and journaling tag from Pink Paislee paper.

More fussy cutting.

The wood piece is from American Crafts. I topped it with a "let it snow" fussy cut piece.

A corky arrow topped with a heart sticker.

How about some sparkly heat embossing?! I used a Stampendous snowflake stamp here.

More heat embossing on this corner.

photo play

This is a good kit.

For this layout, I started with a sketch from Citrus Twist. The papers are from all over the place- Chic Tags, Studio Calico, American Crafts, Simple Stories, and Webster's Pages.

I borrowed these alphas from a different homemade kit. The gray was just too perfect! The little butterflies are from a Fiskars punch with October Afternoon paper. I topped the "O" with a button from Recollections.

I fussy cut these triangles from Studio Calico paper.

These triangles are negative stickers leftover from an October Afternoon border sticker.

The die tag is a leftover from party favors way back when. The striped sticker pieces are from Travel Girl by October Afternoon.

hold you close- Part III

Another layout I never liked.
I don't have enough real estate for duds. So, if I don't like it, it gets trashed or more attention. The above is the original. I altered it and it still wasn't good enough so now we're on to Part III.

Printing the photo in black & white is probably the biggest improvement. I also continued to accent my layout with papers from the same collection- Random by Crate Paper. It's random all right.

I used snipped away pieces to accent the top here. I also added doodling for definition.

I used Black Soot Distress Ink to color the "CLOSE" letters. It almost worked. I decided the bright blue wasn't working at all on this layout so I ripped them off and replaced them with a little accent banner and gray letters from Cosmo Cricket.

An imperfect speech bubble. Totally random!

Layers of banners and doodling.

We'll see.
